Labuan Trip (13/12 - 14/12/2008)

Labuan, Pearl of Borneo where business and leisure meet. It is one of Asia's best kept secret. The island's rich history is reflected with its unique customs, monuments and memorial parks. In addition, Labuan is well equipped with resort and five star hotels. Labuan also provides many interesting places for visitors. Let's explore those places with me....

My friends and I (4 of us) traveled from Kota Kinabalu to Menumbok Port to board ferry to Labuan. Its took around 2 hours plus to reach Menumbok Port. Upon reaching Menumbok port, my friend went to buy ferry ticket and car ferry transport ticket, unfortunately we are in "waiting list" cause we didn't make any reservation first. Erm....wait aroung 1 hour plus, so boring there. So, I started to.......

Me..camwhore when arrived at Menumbok Port.
Wait and wait and wait, finally the authorizer there came to us and let us in (Yeah!!!)...BUT, we need to park our car under the stairs.

See...How terror my friend park the car.

Only a few inch to the steel there.

The car entrance of the ferry.

Car park in the ferry.

Car park view (in the ferry).

Staircase to passenger seats.

Oopps....almost forget to let you guys know the ferry schedules and price. Check it out now!

Oh ya..additional price for the car fees..RM 54 one way.

See...so many cars.

Me...

I wanna leave my foot prints in every places in Labuan.

Labuan Square (Dataran Labuan). It is a popular venue for some of Labuan's main events.

Labuan Square View.

Peace Park. This beautifully landscaped park was built as a memorial and renunciation of the horrors od wars.

A huge man-made mound is the focal point and a plaque signifying the renunciation of war. Can you guys read the words?? SO, stay PEACE ya....

Japanese Surrender Point. (Located next to the Peace Park).

The Chimney

106 feet high structure. The actual purpose of the chimney is still a mystery but many believe it served as a ventilation shaft.

Labuan Clock Tower.

Water Village (Kampung Air).

The wooden houses are built on stilts over water and are connected to each other by numerous wooden walkways.

World War II Memorial.

Malaysia's largest war grave.

Some 3,908 soldiers (Australia, British and Indian) are buried here.

Labuan International Sea Sport Complex. Labuan Marine Museum is located inside the sea sports complex.

Shopping time.....

Sky Park Duty Free located in the Financial Park Building. (I think chocolates here are more cheaper compare to other stores in Labuan).

Chocolates (I LOVE SO MUCH).
Liquors
Time to say "Bye Bye Labuan".
Few types of chocolates and liquor I bought.
