Penang road trip 2012

Penang, a place that full of attractions: Foods, historical places, friendly people and etc.

I went there again this year but with family. My mum went to pray since that day was Guan Yin buddha's birthday.

We reached a day earlier. First day, after we checked-in the hotel (I stayed at town area) we went around Penang to see some historical places. Hunted for nice foods. *Gained weight*

Not many people the day we visited Penang. No traffic jammed. *Winks

Passed by this blue mansion. Actually, it is knowns as "Cheong Fatt Tze" mansion that representation of the Paradigm Chinese Courtyard House.

The exterior view of the mansion.

Then, we went to for simple lunch. Nothing special. So, no photos. We also passed by Swettenham Pier. *Don't get confused with the port in Klang which also name as Port Swettenham in his honour. Shipping activities in Penang are available here. Not only that, there are so many cruises: Virgo, Libra and etc are available here as well. Anyone interested to travel to Krabi can take the cruise at Swettenham Pier. *Argh~~How good if I can travel on the cruise one day. I just need a break.

Here the Libra cruise. *Can't capture the whole cruise. I was standing far away only I noticed the cruise. LOL.

Next, Fort Cornwallis. All these are just nearby or next to each other.^^

Second day, we went to Bukit Bendera. Now, they got a pathway direct from parking lot to the Bukit Bendera entrance. Well done Penang!!

Pathway to Bukit Bendera.

How can I resist not to take photo with all these greens!

Here we are: Bukit Bendera!

We took cable car up to the hill. Luckily not many tourists that day. Just took 10 mins to queue and I got into the cable car. ^^

Now, Bukit Bendera got a owl museum. For those who are interested with owl accessories can pay a visit here.

Then, we headed to Kek Lok Si to "bai bai" (pray). Not much photos. Mum said we should not take photos of Buddha. Not good!

Kek Lok Si

Two things not to forget when you visit to Penang.

First: cendol ice.

Second, asam laksa.

We have these for lunch at Ayer Itam road. The stalls are located downhill the Kek Lok Si temple.

The weather was good during the whole trip. *I didn't get darker in my color tone. *Peace.

Then, we headed back to KL to face the reality. WTF*

Bye Bye Penang!
